me mad if you like, but this piece was one of a dozen or so identical
specimens in a fine old jewellery shop, hidden away in the narrow walkways
of the medieval town, close to where I live. She, along with her compatriots
would be adorned by this weeks treasures - necklaces, the odd earring,
whatever. I found myself regularly going out of my way to pass the window,
just to admire their form. The day came I could resist no longer. I
hoped he wouldn't be offended when he found the object of my desire
to be the mini mannequins upon which his fine wares were perched, and
not his very splendid hand-crafted fare. I guess he can't have been
that bothered, he sold me one of his harem without quibble and I gained
a treasure of my own.
