A DEDICATION TO LAETITIA CASTA

As an artist (as well as a red-blooded male) I see something very special within Laetitia Casta. There are literially thousands of images of this very beautiful young lady all over the internet and so I doubt I could call this gallery representative. Indeed it is not intended to be. The images throughout these galleries have been chosen for their potential as an artwork, and I have remained true to that purpose here. But Laetitia offers more in the way of art that any other model I know. Why is that?

Is she more beautiful than Cindy Crawford, or Christy Turlington, or Claudia Schiffer - and on, to many she will not be, so why is it that MANY more of her images are potential artworks than ANY other model I have come across?? I believe the answer is two fold. Firstly, she doesn't take herself .too seriously, that ozzes from many of her photographs. In fact I'll include a few such images at the end of this gallery to prove it. Secondly, she seems to have an inherent understanding of the camera, and takes her work very seriously. There are aspects within many of her poses that you can tell are her own - The turned in foot on the boat image below is an excellent example. It's not something any photographer would have come up with - nor would most other models. She KNOWS what will work and just does it - I can tell.

Photographic images as pure art forms are spectacularly rare in relation to the mass. Sincerely, how many have you seen that you would quite simply frame as they came and hang over your mantlepiece. For me, the image above and any of the four below could just go straight up on the wall.
