What I would term true classic pin-up photography as a source for artistic reference is in fact incredibly rare and
I'm not quite sure why this is so. With so many glamorous and what may be called 'modern' pinup images available, you would think that finding photographic images that conform to the classic pin-up mold, would be easy - and it's it's not.
Quite why is this is so, I'm not sure.
Maybe it's because the classic pin-up format has moved from curvaceous whole-body poses, to generally more seductive close focus images. The cheeky smile or the shocked 'Oow!' formation of the lips has given way to sexier gazes and more suggestive pouts. Whatever the reason, the change has made finding photo-references upon which to practice your pin-up art skills something of a challenge.
